Role and Responsibilities
As a Delivery Associate, you will support USPS operations by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of mail and packages. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates seeking to begin a career in public service without prior experience.
- Sort, organize, and load mail and packages for delivery
- Deliver letters and parcels on an assigned route using postal vehicles or on foot
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in deliveries and pickups
- Interact with customers professionally and courteously
- Maintain records of deliveries and handle mail securely
- Follow USPS procedures and safety protocols at all times
Required Skills and Experience
- Ability to lift and carry mail and packages weighing up to 70 lbs
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record (for positions requiring vehicle use)
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and follow delivery schedules
- Effective communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Familiarity with local delivery areas and routes
- Basic knowledge of handheld delivery scanners or mobile devices
